EtnoCarpathia - information meeting on the importance and creation of territorial brands

On September 24, 2020, an information meeting on the importance and creation of territorial brands was held in Rzeszów. The meeting was organized by the Association of the Carpathian Euroregion Poland in connection with the implemented key project "EtnoCarpathia" co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Interreg VA Poland-Slovakia Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020.

An information and workshop meeting was addressed to representatives of local government units. The aim of the meeting was to familiarize participants with the importance of territorial brands in the process of socio-economic development and to indicate how to use the resources of the place, taking into account new development trends in tourism, including the latest Swiss patterns.

During the meeting, the model of building the tourist product "EtnoCarpathia" was presented, which is based on cultural resources related to ethnic groups living in the Polish-Slovak border area in the Carpathians. This product will be developed under the common, already existing, international Carpathian brand "Carpathia", the author and promoter of which is the Carpathian Euroregion Poland Association.

Swiss experts, Mr. Manu Broccard, Prof. HES-SO Valais-Wallis Tourism Institute and an expert from Poland, Mr. Adam Mikołajczyk - President of the Board of the Best Place Foundation - European Place Marketing Institute. Experts presented the latest trends in place brand management. The structure of brand management and the process of commercialization of cultural resources were discussed.

We would like to thank everyone for participating in the meeting, which was the first in a series of workshops planned in the project, which has one goal in order to increase the attractiveness and recognition of the Polish-Slovak borderland by using the resources of cultural heritage.
