Carpathian Forum of NGOs

kfop

The Carpathian Forum of Non-governmental Organizations is an open cross-border platform for cooperation and exchange of experiences, created under the Euroregional Cooperation System, enabling information management between public and non-governmental sector players.

KFOP is to be a kind of "club" of non-governmental organizations for which the associations of the Carpathian Euroregion define the needs of their members as part of their strategies, define tasks, and implement a stream of projects to help them. The very formula of the Forum and the purpose of its appointment as well as its role in relation to other initiatives of this type is the subject of the vision and the future. The organizer and implementer of the forum's activities are to be EK associations, including the Carpathian Euroregion Poland Association and the Slovakia-North Carpathian Euroregion Association, which, through specific procedures and resources, can carry out the tasks set out in this strategy.

The forum is also a valuable platform for understanding for non-governmental organizations. Experts invited to participate in the system are the experience of people who have been dealing with the issues of the third sector for years, who know the opportunities and difficulties faced by non-governmental organizations in everyday reality. The topics and issues discussed in KFOP are very diverse, however, they are selected in such a way that they correspond to the greatest possible extent with the expectations of the Carpathian non-governmental sector.

KFOP vision

  1. The Carpathian Forum of NGOs in the first stage is to be a kind of "international club" of non-governmental organizations, which are also concentrated in national clubs ", conducted at this stage of the implementation of the strategy (until 2017) in at least two clubs: Polish (run by SEKP) and Slovak (run by SEKSP). The accession of an NGO to the "national club" means at the same time joining the "international club."
  2. KFOP is to acquire new members within the existing national clubs, and in the future to cover the area of Romania, Hungary and Ukraine by establishing and developing local national clubs.
  3. KFOP is to be the strongest forum of this type within 5 years, not only on the Polish-Slovak border, but also in western Ukraine, north-eastern Hungary and northern Romania: it is to have an established brand, credibility, and gain the trust of local and government authorities as an important partner social (the strongest representative of a non-governmental organization in this area).
