Protection of traditions and customs, exchange of artistic experiences resulting from the cultural heritage of the border area, showing common features in culture and art, as well as extending and tightening the existing neighborly relations - these are the goals of the micro-project implementation. As part of the microproject, a number of soft activities were organized, which made it possible to popularize the culture and traditions of the borderland, saved the heritage of ancestors from oblivion and gave the opportunity to learn about contemporary manifestations of art (singing, dancing, handicrafts, sculpture, painting, local food). The artistic initiatives undertaken allowed for the discovery of common features of the cultures of the Polish-Slovak borderland.
The main activities carried out under the project:
- Organization of a series of seven artistic and handicraft workshops aimed at presenting various manifestations of Polish and Slovak culture, protection of heritage and activation of inhabitants and artists from the border area. Workshops related to the Easter traditions of Poland and Slovakia entitled "Egg writing workshops in the Polish and Slovak tradition", "Lace-making in the Slovak tradition" and "Common Christmas breakfast - workshops, show and tasting regional Easter food in the Polish-Slovak tradition." Then "Cymbalists' Workshops", "Regional Folk Dance Workshops for Children" and "Creative Workshops" were organized. The last of the series of seven workshops was the meeting entitled "Let's go Christmas carols together" aimed at music groups, the result of which is a CD with Christmas carols in Polish and Slovak,
- Art workshops: painting and sculpting, and the publication of a post-plein-air catalog. Both the painting and sculpting plein-air took place in Dukla with the participation of 16 painters and 16 sculptors from Poland and Slovakia. Pictures and sculptures created during the open-air events were presented during the open-air vernissages. The aim of the task was to exchange artistic experiences, tighten the existing neighborly relations and disseminate the art of the borderland. The second part of the task was to publish a post-plein-air catalog, which included the artists' works, as well as descriptions in Polish and Slovak. The publication is a showcase of the region and shows the artistic workshop of artists from Poland and Slovakia.
- Meetings with Slavic culture , which included 3 concerts / performances presenting the traditional Slavic culture. The event entitled "Slovak Day" was held in Dukla during which you could see, among others performances of 3 folk groups from Slovakia and try traditional Slovak cuisine. Another event entitled The "Christmas rite from the vicinity of Dukla in Slovakia" was held with the participation of a folk group from the Dukla commune in Svidnik. In turn, on the Polish side there was a "Christmas Rite from Slovakia", during which a folk band from Slovakia performed, followed by joint caroling. One of the main goals of the organized events was to cultivate the traditions and customs of the border area and to show the similarities in Polish and Slovak culture.
