Tourism knows no boundaries - this was the assumption made by the project partners. The border between Poland and Slovakia runs along and divides the area of a homogeneous geographic and natural character. The natural environment is one of the main reasons for the tourist attractiveness of the Polish-Slovak border area, and at the same time constitutes an unused potential in the context of the development of tourism in this area. The organization of 10 field nature workshops, a study visit, and the preparation of packages of offers in the border area contributed to the creation of a coherent offer and, as a result, to support the development of tourism. In turn, the created application for the phone shows the most interesting elements of the natural world of the Polish-Slovak border and disseminating information about them.
The main activities carried out under the project:
- Field nature workshops on the Polish side . A series of 7 field nature workshops was organized in places of natural interest in the southern part of the Podkarpackie Province. The workshop program was the basis for the development of the tourist offer package. The workshops lasted 3 days and took place at different times of the year, they consisted of theoretical and field parts. They were aimed at the local community and guides from the Polish-Slovak border. 20 people participated in each workshop.
- Field nature workshops on the Slovak side were organized in the form of a series of 3 workshop meetings at different times of the year. As on the Polish side, their program was the basis for developing a tourist offer package. The places were selected in such a way as to show the most valuable natural attractions. The workshops were aimed at the local community, guides both from Poland and Slovakia. Each of the series of 3 workshops consisted of a field and theoretical part (combined with a discussion). A total of 60 people participated in the series of workshops.
- Creation of natural tourist offers on the Polish-Slovak border . As part of the task, a survey was carried out on the tourism market in the context of nature tourism in the Polish-Slovak borderland. 10 packages of tourist offers adapted to the current market needs were developed. The packages present valuable natural (and not only) places of the Polish-Slovak borderland. Each package is a ready offer for 5 groups (singles, couples, families with children, seniors, groups of friends) in two versions (weekend and weekly). The material prepared in this way was used to create a publication in two language versions - Polish and Slovak. In addition, on the basis of the prepared packages of tourist offers, film materials were created to promote the prepared offers, which were broadcast twice on TVP3 Rzeszów.
- The "GREEN PUZZLE" application for the phone aims to show the most interesting elements of the natural world of the Polish-Slovak borderland and to disseminate information on this subject. It is educational in nature, both for the youngest and the older generation. The application contains a collection of 80 puzzles - each puzzle is available in different levels of difficulty. This collection is divided into 3 categories: plants, animals and landscapes.
- A study visit for journalists, bloggers, employees of Tourist Information Centers, members of the Project Team was aimed at promoting nature tourism, the natural heritage of the borderland, showing its values and presenting the project's activities for nature tourism. The study visit was attended by 15 stakeholders who have the greatest impact on the opinion, the possibility of promotion and reaching a very wide audience, namely: journalists, bloggers, employees of the Tourist Information Center and the project team. The participants of the visit had the opportunity to see the natural heritage of the Polish-Slovak borderland on the example of a selected package. During the visit, problems related to nature tourism in this area were also raised.
