Beneficiary:   Jarosław Town Commune

Slovak partner : Mesto Svidnik

Implementation period: 01/04/2017 - 31/03/2018

Realized project value: € 68 817.78 , including ERDF co-financing: € 58 495.11 ,

Increasing the interest and knowledge of visitors and residents about the cultural heritage of Jarosław and Svidnik is the goal of the project partners. As a result of the project, innovative product and promotional tools were created, such as websites, mobile applications with audio guides and city games. To ensure the integration of activities in the field of border tourism development, workshops and an open-air artistic workshop were organized. Additionally, a number of promotional activities were carried out to ensure adequate communication with target groups, i.e. tourists and residents of Jarosław and Svidnik. In addition, project partners took part in tourism fairs, which are an excellent marketing tool - they gather people from the industry, potential contractors and customers.

The main activities carried out under the project:

  • Building a Polish-Slovak tourist website with a mobile application presenting the cultural and historical heritage of the cities of Jarosław and Svidnik in an accessible and attractive way. The websites are addressed to people visiting the city and to residents. On the other hand, the tourist mobile application for Jarosław and Svidnik has a promotional, informative and product character thanks to the city game and audio guide modules.
  • Organization of an open-air painting combined with an exhibition and a conference in Svidnik . The task was to organize an open-air exhibition and conference during the culture festival with the participation of 10 Partner delegates from Jarosław and 40 people from Svidnik. 200 people from both Slovakia and Poland participated in the conference.
  • Pottery workshops combined with an exhibition and a conference were organized for the tourism industry with the participation of schoolchildren. The selected groups participated in the workshops: people involved in tourism, heritage promotion and culture; artists creating works based on the heritage of Carpathian cities and representatives of non-governmental organizations active in tourism. The conference, in turn, was a response to how to use the potential of the tourist product of Jarosław and the heritage of the Polish-Slovak borderland.
  • Participation in the international tourism fair in Wrocław, for which the city of Jarosław has prepared an exhibition of the culinary and wine heritage of the Polish-Slovak borderland in order to draw the attention of decision-makers, politicians, journalists and tourists to the Polish-Slovak borderland rich in culinary and wine traditions. Participation in such a prestigious event made it possible to expose and show to a wide audience the best, selected products that testify to the heritage of the borderland.
  • Participation in the tourism fair in Bratislava brought considerable benefits. Trade fair events are the perfect place to exchange experiences and insights with people from the industry and customers. It is also important that the fair is not visited by random people - almost all of them are related to a given industry, and most of them come here for a specific purpose. Participation in the Forum in Bratislava was an important element of promotion related to the rich culinary and wine tradition of the Polish-Slovak borderland.
