Project partners used modern techniques to create a digital form of traditional images depicting the history of the borderland and the multicultural history of the region. By putting in motion individual elements of the works, they achieved the effect of "reviving". The pictures show important moments in the Polish-Slovak borderland in Zagórze, on the Dukla Pass and in the vicinity of Prešov, related to the period of the Bar Confederation. In the future, it will be a permanent exhibition at the Cultural Center under construction at the historic ruins of the Discalced Carmelite Monastery in Zagórze. The project also includes activities supporting the education of the young generation and strengthening ties between nations. The micro-project contributed to the cultivation and preservation of cultural heritage in the Polish-Slovak borderland and to the development of the region.
The main activities carried out under the project:
- Preparation of 10 digital versions of traditional images . The task was to make a digital form of traditional images by putting in motion individual elements of the works, making them in a sense "alive", along with the preparation of software, control devices and their installation. The product of the project combines both modernity and tradition. Thanks to such solutions, museums and cultural facilities will become an attractive point of the Carpathian region, which will result in reaching a wide group of new tourists. The unconventional approach to culture and history was aimed at encouraging, inter alia, young people looking for innovative solutions to use cultural goods, especially those relating to the forgotten subject of the history of the Carpathian region. The project was promoted during the 21st edition of the International Carpathian Rutting Area in Zagórze. The event was attended not only by the inhabitants of the Zagórz Commune, but also tourists and representatives of the partner from Slovakia. During the promotional campaign, the participants of the event had the opportunity to see the prepared multimedia presentation presenting information about the partnership project.
- Common history lessons "across borders" . The partners conducted a competition entitled "A story about the Polish-Slovakian land", which was open-ended. 10 people from Poland and Slovakia were selected in the age categories 8-11 and 12-15. The winners participated in history lessons. Children not only had a unique opportunity to gain knowledge in a tangible way, but also to integrate and tighten bonds. Interesting history lessons initiated a new form of transferring knowledge, and the established national contacts will constitute the basis for further cooperation. On the Polish side, integration games and games were organized, as well as a cross-border football match, which took place in Polish-Slovak groups.
