The proximity of the cities and an interesting natural area formed the basis for creating an interesting tourist product, especially for the elderly. Thanks to the marking of routes for active recreation through Nordic walking, seniors can spend their time actively, admiring the natural values of Jasło and the town of Humenné. In addition, thanks to the newly created Tourist and Cultural Information Center, residents and visitors have the opportunity to get to know the border area, interesting buildings, places, routes of the city of Jasło, and the city of Humenné.

The main activities carried out under the project:

  • Organization of fairs promoting partner cities . The aim of the Partner Cities Fair was to promote the border area in terms of tourist attractions. During the fair in Jasło, it was possible to see tourist offers prepared by Tourist Information Centers from the Podkarpacie and Lesser Poland provinces, as well as from abroad, including: Bardejov, Vranov nad Topl'ou, Liptovsky Mikulas, Trebisov, Humenne. Thanks to the newly established CITiK, residents and visitors have the opportunity to get to know the border area, interesting facilities, places, routes of the City of Jasło, accommodation, catering facilities, etc. As part of the task, boards were also made presenting the location of partner cities on the map with an indication of tourist attractions and exhibition stands ( 12 items) for the presentation of tourist offers and products of regional partner cities.
  • Establishing a Tourist and Cultural Information Center, which will allow for greater promotion of the tourist and cultural offer of Jasło, as well as partner cities, including Humenne, among tourists and residents. As part of the task, workshops on tourist promotion of cities were also organized. 16 people participated in the training. The training focused on how to promote and present your city in order to attract as many tourists as possible.
  • Tourist promotion of cultural and natural heritage on the Polish side . The aim of the task was to promote the cultural and natural heritage of the border region, in particular Jasło and Humenne, as well as the promotion of the tourist product, which is the created tourist offer for seniors, including the possibility of using the Nordic walking path running through the picturesque areas of Jasło and Humenne. As part of the project, the Nordic walking route has been marked and the viewing point in Jasło has been arranged. In addition, an outdoor event was organized - a Nordic walking meeting, in which 80 people participated. Seniors had the opportunity to participate in joint Nordic walking, integration, city tours and tasting regional dishes. An international conference on the potential of the cultural and natural heritage of the border area was also organized. About 250 people took part in it.
  • Tourist promotion of cultural and natural heritage on the Slovak side . The completed task was, inter alia, participation in events on the Polish side (fairs, training, conference and meeting Nordic walking) and marking the Nordic walking route in the city of Humenné and organization of an outdoor event. The first part of the route leads to the city, and the second part to the forest footpath. The event was attended by seniors from the city of Jasło and the city of Humenné.
