Legends passed down orally from generation to generation are not as much of the attention today as they used to be. The project partners, wanting to stop this unfavorable trend and thus revive the role of legends and stories in the culture of the Polish-Slovak borderland, organized study trips and conferences during which there was a renaissance of legends and stories from the Polish-Slovak borderland. In the era of digital, visual communication, it was decided to combine the presentation method (a film showing monuments with a narrative about the legends and stories related to them) with the direct involvement of the beneficiaries by visiting these places and getting the opportunity to contact experts on the history and legends of the borderland community, consisting of on their cultural heritage.
The main activities carried out under the project:
- Organization of a study trip in Poland and Slovakia together with a thematic conference for local government officials, where legends and stories related to specific places, objects or people from the border area were presented. During their trips, local government officials visited selected historical places and objects with which there are specific legends or interesting stories. On the Polish side, these were, among others: the ruins of the Kamieniec castle in Odrzykoń, the park and the castle in Dubiecko, the Lubomirski palace in Boguchwał, the Wodzicki palace in Tyczyn and the Ostoja manor house in Jasionka. On the Slovak side, participants had the opportunity to visit, among others The War Museum, the Museum of Ruthenian Culture and the Open-Air Museum in Świdnik, as well as the historic old town of Bardejov.
