As part of the implementation of a joint micro-project, two sculptural openings on both sides of the border were carried out with the participation of artists from Poland and Slovakia, during which sculptures of monumental figures were created, which have become a permanent part of the history of the Carpathian Foothills and constitute a specific showcase for it and an additional stimulus promoting values Carpathian Mountains for tourists visiting this region. Monumental sculptures will permanently decorate the landscape of central places at the project partners, often visited by tourists. This idea is part of building the Carpathian Brand as an impulse for the development of tourism based on a rich and authentic cultural heritage. At the end, a Polish-Slovak conference was organized, during which aspects of the cultural background of tourist attractions in the Carpathian region were presented.

The main activities carried out under the project:

  • Polish - Slovak Open Air Monumental Sculptures in Korczyn - 5 artists-sculptors (3 from Poland and 2 from Slovakia) participated in the open air. The artists' works resulted in the sculptures of Ignacy Łukasiewicz, astronomer Jan Winiarski, rector Stanisław Grochmal, general Stanisław Szeptycki and professor Stanisław Pigoń. Sculptures now decorate the landscape of central places in the town of Kroczyna.
  • Slovak - Polish Outdoor Monumental Sculptures in Stropkov - 5 artists-sculptors (2 from Poland and 3 from Slovakia) participated in the open air. During the plein-air in Slovakia, figures of Richtar from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries were performed by Josef Žanona, the founder of football in Stropków, Lukáš Vereš Vyšehradski, the Redemptorist of Bl. The method of Dominik Trčka, the poet Pavel Országh Hviezdoslav and heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, František Ferdinand d´Este. Each of these personalities made a significant contribution to the history of the city. As in Poland, the sculptures are situated in central places in the village of Stropkov.
  • Organization of the Polish - Slovak Conference in Krasna, during which aspects of the cultural background of tourist attractions in the Carpathian region will be presented. The conference was attended by 41 people - representatives of the self-governments of the project partners, as well as artistic circles and invited turoperators.
