Podkarpacie is the most powerful wine region in Poland, the number of farms with their vineyards is growing here every year, therefore the implementation of the project allowed to lay the foundations for creating a brand, which will be the Carpathian Wine Route. The project covered not only the preparation of a group of winemakers to operate on the route, but also promotion and building a network of cooperation with the catering industry, administrators and tourist information. The implementation of the project not only strengthened the local tourist potential, but also enabled the exchange of good practices between the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, which has the greatest potential for viticulture in Poland, and the neighboring Slovakia, which already has extensive experience in viticulture (mainly in the Tokaj area).
The main activities carried out under the project:
- Marking out the Carpathian Wine Route . Entities were selected to participate in the Carpathian Wine Route, promoting the most representative objects related to enotourism in the Polish-Slovak borderland. On the Polish side, 19 vineyards joined, and on the Slovak side, one, for which training courses on "Marketing in enotourism", "Key issues of marketing and PR for cultural tourism products" and "When does a tourist product become profitable?" Were organized? Creation and development of tourism products "
Promotion of the Carpathian Wine Route - activities aimed at comprehensive promotion of the route were undertaken as part of the task. - The concept of promotion has been developed allowing to set strategic directions of activities for the promotion of the Trail. A website was created containing all information about the route, its participants and local natural and cultural resources, tourist events and the history of winemaking in the borderland. A guide to the Trail has been published in 1000 copies, which contains practical tips on how to get to know the enotourism of the PL-SK borderland in the best way. A video promoting the trail was also prepared.
- Events on the Trail is a series of soft activities aimed at promoting the Trail. A study visit was carried out for 10 bloggers / journalists who showed the potential of enotourism in the Polish-Slovak border area. During the visit, the participants visited places such as Kombornia, Jasło, Krosno. The participants were acquainted with the history and wine tradition in the region, the current state of the local enotourism potential of the vineyards located on the Carpathian Wine Route. An action reaching a different target group was the popular science conference on enotourism in the Polish-Slovak border area, which was attended by 55 people, including 7 people from Slovakia. The last of the activities was an exhibition participation in the cyclical "Days of Wine" event in Jasło . Over 30 exhibitors, including 15 Polish vineyards, took part in the two-day wine event, importers who present wines, e.g. from Georgia, Hungary, Moldova and Slovenia. Participation in the event was the best opportunity to present the local enotourism potential.
