The participants of the project activities had the opportunity to reflect the beauty of nature and the richness of the cultural and historical heritage of the Carpathian Foothills on canvas. The fruit of each of the painting plein-airs were 40 extraordinary paintings, which can be an incentive to travel around the borderland. Pictures presenting picturesque landscapes or monuments are not the only effect of the project, one cannot omit the mutual exchange of experiences and enriching the artists' skills. At the end, a conference was organized, during which aspects of the cultural, historical and ethnographic background of the tourist attractions of the Carpathian region were presented.

The main activities carried out under the project:

  • Slovak - Polish Open Air Painting in Stropkov . It results in works of art in the form of 40 paintings inspired by the Carpathian nature and cultural and historical peculiarities of the cross-border region. 20 artists - 7 from Poland and 13 from Slovakia - took part in the plein-air. During 5 days, the artists created in the castle area, on the market square, but also in adjacent places, which offer a beautiful view of the city of Stropków. In their works they captured the old Stropków and its historical nooks, as well as the surrounding nature characteristic of the border region. During the creation of the paintings, the venue was visited by many guests who were keenly interested in the project and its goals. The opening of the post-plein-air exhibition took place during the Stropkowski Fair.
  • The Polish - Slovak Painting Open Air in Korczyn was attended by 20 painters (13 from Poland and 7 from Slovakia). During the open air, a collection of paintings inspired by natural values as well as cultural and historical peculiarities of the Carpathian Foothills was created - on the Polish side. The collection of 40 paintings created during the open air creates an artistic exhibition during the organized exhibitions, fairs and other cultural and promotional events both in Poland and abroad.
  • Organization of the Polish - Slovak Conference in Krasna   (in the Korczyna commune), during which aspects of the cultural, historical and ethnographic background of the tourist attractions of the Carpathian region were presented. The conference was attended by 40 people - representatives of the project partner self-governments, as well as artistic circles and invited guests.
