Implementation period: 01/03/2020 - 30/06/2021

Realized project value: € 52,026.65, including ERDF co-financing: € 44,222.62

The project was an excellent example of the continuation of activities undertaken during the implementation of other Polish-Slovak projects and assumed the popularization of knowledge about the cultural heritage of traditional crafts and local customs, as well as the promotion of beautiful nature. Due to the fact that a modern tourist more and more often before visiting a given place is looking for information about it on the Internet, therefore the most popular information distribution channels and the most effective promotion tool is the Internet, where various blogs, videoblogs, reports can provide information on specific places directly from the locals, and the travel experience of visitors to the region. As part of the project, the concept of the Carpathian Media Laboratory was developed - a strategic and implementation document containing the substantive and organizational foundations of its operation at the planned Weaving Center in Przeworsk. In addition, workshops in the field of marketing communication were held, the effect of which are scenarios of 4 actions using innovative methods of promotion. As part of these actions, 4 films were created to promote the cultural heritage of the borderland, constituting a meeting with local artists, enthusiasts - people who know the region "inside out". A conference was held at the end of the project.

The main activities carried out under the project:

  • Development of the concept of the Carpathian Media Laboratory. On the basis of three consultation and workshop meetings, a concept of a strategic and implementation document was developed, containing the substantive and organizational foundations for the operation of the Carpathian Media Laboratory at the planned Weaving Center in Przeworsk.
  • Organization of a series of marketing communication workshops , the purpose of which was to transfer knowledge and skills as well as increase competences in the field of innovative marketing methods in the promotion of cultural heritage and tourism. The topics of the workshops included: the principles of creating engaging articles about cultural heritage, videoblogging about cultural heritage, social media without secrets and methods of creating promotional campaigns. The workshop was attended by 12 people divided into two groups, six people on the Slovak side and six people on the Polish side. The workshops included theoretical exercises and outdoor visits to Przeworsk, Giraltovce and the surrounding area. The participants chose the places they wanted to capture in a photo, promotional video or write an interesting article about it. During the workshops, they learned how to write texts and articles about cultural heritage, how to post them on social media, how to write blog posts, create vlogs and how to use social media promotion tools. The workshops also gave birth to ideas and creations for scenarios for future campaigns and promotional films.
  • Cultural heritage promotion actions. As part of the action, 4 films were made to promote the cultural heritage of the borderland. Participants of the workshops were invited to cooperate in their implementation, and they could use the acquired knowledge within the framework of the implemented actions. In addition to the films, 50 photos and a text report were taken as part of the action. The films present interesting stories of interesting people and their life threads that create the specific atmosphere of smaller and larger border towns. These cities include Przeworsk and Gilartowce, and they are inhabited by passionate people who give them an interesting and unique character. One of such people is the inhabitant of Przeworsk, Mr. Waldemar Mazera - an aviation and history enthusiast, a constructor of replicas of World War I planes, who independently built a replica of an ultralight French fighter from World War I - the Neuport 17 plane. His character and passion were presented in one from promotional films published as part of the project. The next film presents the figure of Mr. Marek Olszyński - a painter, draftsman and graphic artist, one of the most outstanding visual artists of the region from Przeworsk, who has been creating his works for years and presenting them at exhibitions in Poland and abroad. His works are in many national collections, in private collections in the USA, Japan, the Netherlands, Brazil, Germany, Austria, France, Belgium and Scotland. He also won awards for activities promoting culture and art. The third film presents two families from Przeworsk, Mr. and Mrs. Rosołów and Mr. Jurkiewicz, who are true enthusiasts of various grape varieties. Both families imported several dozen grapevines, planted and cultivate them, creating their own elegant vineyards. The fourth film was shot in Gilartowce with the participation of a project partner. The film shows the local, ancient and still functioning brewhouse handed down from generation to generation. What is very important in this film is the culture and tradition of ancestors, and the fact that modern generations still want to continue their brewing craft, using old, antique measuring devices and instruments. Ideas for promotional films of cultural heritage were created during the marketing communication workshops.
  • The event summarizing the project was held at the "Pastewnik" Inn in Przeworsk. Participants had the opportunity to meet and listen to a popular traveler - blogger from Warsaw, as well as watch the presentation and listen to a lecture "How to find and promote local treasures?". Films made as part of the project were also shown. One of the activities was also a photo and film competition entitled "My beautiful region", to which the inhabitants of Poland and Slovakia sent their works. After evaluating the works, the jury awarded the authors attractive prizes and gifts, which were presented during the event. The participants of the event summarizing the project could also see an open-air exhibition of competition works. About 200 people participated in the event.
