A call to space about a land that does not exist
Beneficiary: Bieszczady Poviat
Slovak partner: Mesto Giraltovce
Implementation period: May 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019
Realized project value: € 45,445.90 , including ERDF co-financing: € 35,997.67 ,
The aim of introducing the old Bojków culture to the project was carried out by the Bieszczady Poviat together with the city of Giraltovce. One of the activities was to conduct a workshop entitled: "Lost and Found Heritage", during which participants learned, among others, bead lace, Boyko singing, historical reportage and storytelling. In turn, "Inspirations by the past" is an innovative form of conveying stories about the heritage of ethnic groups, as part of which 8 radio programs were created. An important element of the project was also the action "Uprooted - Found". It consisted in restoring the memory of Boyki by placing plaques with photos of the town in the space where Boykos used to live. Moving on in the footsteps of Boyko's former life was, in turn, possible thanks to the team struggle in the "Boy's Run".
The main activities carried out under the project:
- Creation of a virtual tourist route "Boyko secrets" . The former Bieszczady Mountains were a land teeming with life, inhabited by a multi-ethnic and multi-religious community. Today they are left with deserted valleys and wild orchards. Thanks to the virtual map created as part of the project, you can return to the villages of Boyko - just visit the website www.bojkowskietajemnice.pl or find signs with the names of the places and a QR code in the field, which, after scanning and connecting to the Internet, will take you to virtual reality. The towns that can be found on the trail are: Beniowa, Bukowiec, Brzegi Górne, Caryńskie, Chrewt, Dydiowa, Dźwiniacz Górny, Hulskie, Krywe, Krywka, Łokczka, Olchowiec, Paniszczów, Rosolin, Ruskie, Rosochate, Serednie Małe, Sianki, Skorodne , Sokoliki Górskie, Sokołowa Wola, Sokole, Stebnik, Steinfels, Tarnawa Niżna, Tarnawa Wyżna, Teleśnica Sanna, Tworylne, Tworylczyk, Żurawin.
- Lost and found heritage . As part of the task, workshops were carried out on the Polish and Slovak side on the following topics: beadwork, Boyko singing, radio recordings, photography, historical reportage, storytelling. Each workshop was attended by participants from Poland and Slovakia (30 people each). The results of the workshops are radio broadcasts about Boyki and other ethnic groups, a website and boards with photos of old villages. There was also an excursion in the footsteps of the non-existent Bojków village. At the end, a conference on the Boyko region was organized, with lectures and a presentation of the results of the workshops and a tour in the footsteps of the Boyko region.
- Boykos - return after years . Two concerts of Boyko and ethnic music with accompanying events and a final concert were organized, in which they performed, among others participants of the Boyko music workshops. An important element was the promotion of culinary events, which took place in the form of a competition. An additional event was also the "Boy's Trace" orienteering run, because it required not only the knowledge of map reading, but also the ability to read quickly, because the organizers placed signs on the route with questions about the Boyko's culture and customs. The condition for winning a place on the podium was not only the best time, but also a correctly completed answer sheet. 73 people (19 teams) took part in the run.
- Inspirations from the past . As part of the task, 8 radio programs were created on various aspects of the culture and history of the Boyko region. The broadcasts were created by a group of 15 people aged 16-19.
- "Displaced - found" - marking the places where Boykos used to live . By placing permanent plaques with photos of the village in the space where Boykos used to live, the memory of Boyki has been restored. The boards were created on the basis of archival materials (photos, drawings, etc.). Viewing the board, the viewer has the impression of the object reappearing in the now empty space. Ethnopuzzles were made for children, consisting of two sets: with a photo of an old village and with its present appearance for comparison purposes. The puzzles were disseminated in schools and community centers in the Bieszczady Poviat.
We are pleased to announce that the "Boy's Day" event was particularly appreciated and received the award of the Polish-Slovak Event of the Year 2018.
We encourage you to:
